Workshop
Soft tissue plays a vital role in the health, esthetics, and long-term success of both natural teeth and dental implants, yet its significance is often underappreciated. This course is designed to help dental professionals understand the importance of addressing soft tissue deformities, from the lack of keratinized tissue to the recession around teeth and implants. You will learn how to diagnose and predictably treat various clinical scenarios with a focus on both safety and effectiveness.
The workshop will begin with a review of normal soft tissue anatomy and health around natural teeth, highlighting the differences around dental implants. The course will also cover the crucial role of keratinized mucosa in maintaining both periodontal and peri-implant health, with in-depth discussions on techniques to regenerate and augment keratinized tissue. Special attention will be given to the importance of tissue thickness in achieving optimal esthetic results and ensuring bone stability, with strategies for mucosal thickness augmentation thoroughly explored.
Additionally, you will gain practical experience in treating gingival recessions using techniques such as the coronally advanced flap, as well as more minimally invasive approaches like tunneling. These methods will be discussed in detail and practiced during hands-on sessions using animal models, you will enhance your confidence in your ability to perform these procedures.
By the end of the workshop, you will be equipped with the knowledge and skills to incorporate a range of soft tissue grafting techniques into your daily practice. You will also be able to make informed, evidence-based decisions about the most appropriate surgical approach for various clinical scenarios, enhancing your ability to treat soft tissue deformities and esthetic complications around both teeth and implants ultimately improving the oral health of your patients and the quality of your work.
