Treatment of bone defects for dental implants is one of the most significant challenges during implant placement procedure. The grafting materials as well as the grafting techniques can vary greatly based on the type and the size of the bone defect. The gold standard in guided bone regeneration is the autogenous bone graft followed by the allograft and the xenograft materials, which are selected based on the required treatment and the concomitant defect anatomy and healing time. This activity will include lectures and hands-on workshop on autogenous bone grafting types and techniques for various types of bone defects at implant placement sites.
