Since its initial introduction more than 50 years ago, soft tissue grafting has been used more frequently in clinical settings to increase tissue thickness, restore an adequate width of keratinized tissue, treat mucogingival deformities, and enhance aesthetics at tooth and dental implant sites. The current workshop presents views on the developing field of periodontal and peri-implant soft tissue plastic surgery as well as the most recent evidence about soft tissue augmentation techniques.
