Recent updates on the diagnosis of periodontal disease and peri-implant tissue have been published by the European Federation of Periodontology and the American Academy of Periodontology. This new classification system provides the clinician with the best evidence to identify underlying diseases and conditions. This workshop will discuss this update and guide the participant to adopt an evidence-based approach for diagnosis and successful management.
Aims and Learning Outcome(s):
This workshop aims to provide the participant with basic knowledge and skills to identify and manage the underlying peri-implant disease and periodontitis through a non-surgical approach.
Define the dental hygienist's role in a multidisciplinary approach to manage and maintain periodontal and peri-implant tissues.
